Sustainable Practices

  • One-Side-Clean Flyers and Re-Use Flyers

Over the past several months, members of the Sustainability Team have been collecting “one-side-clean” or OSC paper through recycling bins and OSC collection bins in the library. OSC paper has writing or typing on one side, but is clean on the other side.

We’ve also been collecting Re-Use paper which is clean on both sides, but is still found in the recycling bin.

All flyers in the Earthweek campaign are either OSC paper or Re-Use paper. Check the bottom right hand corner of our flyers to check or just look on the other side of the flyer!

  • “Eco-Paint”

Both of our sandwich boards and our canvas banner use “eco-paint”, specifically Old Fashioned Milk Paint. Free of volatile organic compounds, completely biodegradable, and made of ingredients also safely used in food and pharmaceutical companies, Old Fashioned Milk Paint is a great choice for anyone searching for “green” painting options.

  • One-Side-Clean Banner Paper

All of our banners, as well as the paper on our sandwich boards, use One-Side-Clean Banner Paper. Instead of purchasing rolls of paper, we re-use old building plans that are clean on one side.

  • Commitment to Non-Paper Advertisement

Although flyering is often essential to any part of publicity for a successful event, the Sustainability Team has tried its best to explore other avenues of advertisement.

We focus mainly on Facebook ads, our Facebook group, chalking classroom boards, class announcements, and word-of-mouth!

We appreciate any word-of-mouth advertising you can do as well!
